OK for those people who have an hd tv and have decided to get rid of their cable or paid tv. You don't have to waste your money to get a high fancy HD antenna. All you need is a metal coffee can, Iron nail and an old cable wire you can cut one end off of. We are getting something like 12 channels and the resolution... is better than the cavalier we were paying for very sad but true.

Note: Links were good at the time I posted them, but they often go bad after a while.

Well, I'd be one curious enough to see how that works. I have a $70 Terk indoor antenna hooked to my TV in Knightdale, and I can't hardly get a signal unless I move the thing outdoors and point it south toward Clayton. Unfortunately everything else (windows and all) faces north, so it is what it is until I move.

I've seen several DIY HDTV antennas, but I can't recall a coffee can. Most of what I've seen involves clothes hangers and cake cooling racks or bare copper wire, etc. Haven't actually tried any of them, but seems like they should work. Google DIY HDTV antennas and see what pops up.
