Sadly, Jay did lose his battle with prostate cancer yesterday. Jay was out of work and with no insurance when he was diagnosed. QDR listeners were able to raise over $10,000 for the family through individual donations and a QDR benefit show with Gretchen Wilson. It's a testament to how many people Jay touched with his time on QDR that so many people reached in their wallet during these tough times when they heard he needed help. Thoughts and memories of Jay are being posted on the QDR site and there is a fund set-up in Jay Butler's name at any State Employee's Credit Union Branch for donations.

We've lost another great voice in radio and greater person in our family.
